The independent duchy of Acsynae is located in what was once the north east portion of Maladon. Acsynae's western border buts up against the kingdom of Salkasan. Acsynae itself was created by Morchainti renegades fleeing from one of the Morchainti empires internal dynastic struggles.

The duchy of Acsynae boasts a population of around 780 thousand of whom about thirty-nine thousand dwell within urban areas.
